As we inch closer to the official “Earth Day”, I wanted to pass along a few reminders of how you can celebrate green this Earth Day in a city near you or get a jump ahead on tickets for upcoming events as the festivities continue throughout the Spring.

This year, Earth Day’s theme is themed after A Billion Acts of Green: their people-powered campaign to generate a billion acts of environmental service and advocacy before Rio +20. Earth Day 2011 Leadership Breakfast – Wednesday, April 20th, 8:00 am-10:00 am
Business and nonprofit leaders of Georgia and beyond will gather to celebrate their sustainable business practices at the Earth Day Leadership Breakfast.  Now in its ninth year, the breakfast will feature a thought-provoking keynote speaker who will explore creative ways business leaders can invest in their communities and promote environmental sustainability. 

15th Annual Earth Day Party 2011 – Thursday, April 21st, 7:00pm-10:00pm
Celebrate Earth Day at EarthShare of Georgia’s 15th annual Earth Day Party, this year at Summerour Studio.  This celebration showcases the contributions local companies and non-profits have made to preserve and protect Georgia’s natural heritage.  Enjoy music, dancing, beverages and great food. Guests are invited to bid on the Eco-silent auction stocked with deals on eco-products, trips, jewelry and more. Proceeds for the evening benefit EarthShare of Georgia, Georgia’s only dedicated environmental fund.

New York and Los Angeles:

A Bicoastal Green Drinks Celebration – April 21st, 2011 – 7-10pm
This year LA Green Drinks and NYC Green Drinks are combining for a first Coast-to-Coast Green Drinks party in partnership with Center for Environmental Health, Grist.org and Environment Furniture.
